"I wanted my closet to look like a boutique," she says. It contains over 500 pairs of jeans, 35 custom-made Hermes Birkin bags and an extensive collection of jewelry. The closet, which is decorated with leopard-print carpet, marble columns, a mini-bar, and flat screen tvs, only holds some of her clothes—the overflow is stored in other bedroom closets. Everything in her closet is photographed and stored on her computer so she can easily put together outfits.

The closet she created—"a sanctuary with sunlight," she says—is a sort of isthmus between bedroom and bath. "I never had a space like this," she says of the shoe shelves loosely arranged by heel (high or low) or toe (open or closed). "I used to have one tiny rack I shared with my ex, so I used to put my shoes all over the house. They were displayed like art."

¿Cuál are la mejor parte del rodaje de la película Sexo en Nueva York?"Sinceramente, la mejor parte simplemente era estar todos juntos ahí el primer día. Estar juntos. Ha costado mucho conseguir que todo esté "de vuelta y funcionando". Me costó como un año y medio de mi vida para poder estar de nuevo en la piel de esas cuatro mujeres. Rodeadas de gente que estuvo ahí desde el principio y también rodeadas de cientos de mujeres y paparazzi. Era divino estar ahí otra vez y rodar en el momento perfecto en la ciudad de Nueva York - finales de verano, principios de otoño. Generalmente no siempre se consigue que las cosas salen así de bien. Era emocionante. Toda la experiencia, desde el primer y hasta el último día."
¿Cómo trabajas con Patricia Field en el vestuario de Carrie?“Con Patricia todo es sobre la extrema colaboración. Mi regla con Pat es que voy a probarme lo que sea, todo. No importa si es absurdo, ridículo o bobo, simplemente porque a ella le encanta contar las cosas, las historias, todo lo que está pasando, con ropa. A veces lo que a mí me parece absurdo, al final de alguna manera funciona, así que me dejo y pruebo absolutamente todo. Y honestamente, una de las mejores partes de todo esto es la experiencia de prueba de vestuario con Pat y su equipo, porque es una locura. Tiene lo más increíble, bonito y ridículo en una sala. Es maravilloso. Y ella es una cuantahistorias increíble."

What was the best part of making “Sex and the City: The Movie?”
“Honestly, the best part was just being there together on the set the first day. Being together. It took a lot to get this movie back up and running. It’s taken 1 1/2 years of my life to cobble it all together and to find ourselves on the set playing these women again. Surrounded by crew who have been there from the beginning, and surrounded on the peripheral by hundreds of women and the paparazzi. It was really kind of heavenly to be there again and shooting at the perfect time in New York City — the most romantic time — late summer, early fall. Things just don’t generally work out like this. It was a thrill. The whole experience from the first day to the last.”
Tell me how you work with Patricia Fields on Carrie’s costumes.
“With Patricia, it’s extremely collaborative. My rule with Pat is, I will try anything on. I don’t care how ludicrous or ridiculous or silly, because she just loves telling stories with clothes. Every now and then something I find absurd somehow works, so I will try anything on for her. And honestly one of the best parts of the experience is a fitting with Pat and her team, because it’s just crazy. It’s the most amazing, beautiful, ridiculous clothes in one room. It’s great. She is an incredible storyteller.”
Did any of your own clothing line get into the wardrobe?
“My clothing line (Bitten) wasn’t (included in the wardrobe for the movie) because, as one of our producers said, you know, there is no Sarah Jessica Parker in Carrie Bradshaw’s world. Habitualmente no tardo tanto... pensaba que, como siempre, habrá más fotos el día siguiente pero hasta hoy ni salieron más fotos ni hemos visto a Cameron Diaz (la respuesta correcta) en el mismo pantalón. Ya llegará nuestro momento. Mientras tanto demos la bienvenida a la nueva socia de Tie Dye Jeans Club: Beyoncé, que si la luz no me engaña, optó por vaqueros de J Brand en el lavado Zombie. Combinó varias tendencias en una: vaqueros desteñidos, rotos y boyfriend jeans, y los combinó con botines de YSL. Si no me equivoco es la primera en llevar los botines en plateado, aunque la fundadora de este club es Tilda Swinton.
