Celebriy shoes: Louboutin for Rodarte

Since we were presented the Rodarte Fall 2008 collection, when somebody says killer heels, many of us imagine some of the works of art of Christian Louboutin for Rodarte. Platform shoes with endless heels, embelished with studs, "claws" and spikes. You either love them or say "what is this?...", "these people are going crazy...". But where we can agree with each other is that these shoes -that what they've also got is a lot of danger and yourself can give it the sense of the word you prefer- leaves no one feeling indifferent.

Vogue, Velvet, Elle o W Magazine. ¿Cuál es tu preferido?

We will also agree that this atypical style is the typical one that makes a stylist's imagination and creativity fly to many directions... And we're finding proves of it since months ago. From the combos you can only find in lookbooks, magazines or catwalks to very appealing sxy, romantic or rock chic looks. Below some of them... Vogue, Velvet, Elle or W Magazine. Which one is your favourite?

If after the presentacion of the collection you would have asked me who I think is going to wear those heels in a real life, I would say Rihanna, Mary-Kate Olsen or Victoria Beckham. Also could be Beyoncé in some of her videoclips or her sister in one of her "I'm trying oh so hard" attempts. Neither Rihanna nor Knowles sisters proved me right so far, even though Rihanna gets a point for having rocked Rodarte tights from the same collection.

Mary-Kate did but the point goes to the stylist. The one that didn't stand me up, was Victoria. She opted for a look in which her crystal "letal weapons" by Louboutin go hand in hand with something such extremely feminine, and very trendy, like lace. Didn't expect less from you, Victoria! The one that suprised me in a positive way was the founder of this club, Janet Jackson, that with these feet jewels gave to her apparently basic look a touch even an authentic devil lady would be jealous of.

¿Quién crees que será la siguiente socia?

Who do you think is going to be the next member?

If you follow Beyoncé's career, you've probably heard the super sxy R&B singer mentioning in more than one occasion that herself in the real life is not like we're use to seeing her on the stage, that the mayority of times the one who performes on the stage is her alter ego Sasha. Overtly extrovert, sxy and provocative...
And with her new project, her 3rd solo album, she's bringing Sasha to a next level. Her double disc "I Am..." includes "I Am Sash Fierce" - a CD exclusively dedicated to her fierce alter ego and "I Am Beyoncé", that's more like herself with songs that promise to surprise us since is something we're not use to in her repertoire. There are also two singles that were launched at the same time. "Single Ladies" from the first CD and...

... y "If I Were A Boy" del segundo CD.

... "If I Were A Boy" from the second one. And if you didn't have the opportunity to see Sasha and Beyoncé in their respective brand new videoclips, go to their official YouTube page. Knowles family keeps surprising us.

The album will be available from Nov 18 on and I'm going to get one. The singles are promising, so I'm very curious. What I won't be able to buy is the November issue of Essence magazine, but thanks to huge fans of Beyoncé on Sexy-Sugah.com, I'm able to share with you one of her last photo sessions. This one is by Matt Jones. I love the Victor & Rolf coat she's wearing on the cover...

... as well as this white Celine sweater, Luis Vuitton skirt, Basia necklace and Emilio Pucci belt combo.

There can't be a session without featuring Mr. Armani's work. This time is Emporio Armani dress...

... and also a bit for those who loved Prada, Salvatore Ferragamo and Chloé Fall 2008 collections.

No vende exclusivas.

What I've always loved about her was that she's not willing to share her personal life with anybody outside her family. Doesn't sell exclusives. Doesn't invite us to her house and doesn't pose with her husband with the clear objective of selling more CDs. We think we know a lot about her but what we think we know is what we've imagined seeing the paparazzi photos, what we've read or heard... In this sense there are a very few artists like her. And like Natasha Eubanks, creator and editor of YBF said (and btw, congratulations Natasha!!! - there are just few people on this planet whose name appeared in an official article about Beyoncé!!!): "She's the biggest name in R&B, and we don't know anything about her. Of course there are people who can't connect to her because of that. But she gets away with it due to her talent. We wouldn't put up with this from anyone else...".

Celebrity Style: Mel B

I was going through the photos from MOBO Awards yesterday and the one that clearly standed out for me was Mel B in her, as usually, body hugging dress with a huge hood:

Not very common, better say is quite rare, to see hoods on red carpets. One or a couple of exceptions every year, like Janet Jackson in her Azzedine Alaïa vintage dress last fall or Malinda Williams in her also vintage by Patick Kelly back in January.

The one that without any doubt can say a hood in any size, fabric, shape or occasion is her trademark, is Grace Jones:

Remember how fierce she looked in her Azzedine Alaïa dress?

A hood dress on the stage... the only one that comes into my mind is Rihanna during her Brit Awards performance, wearing this Mara Hoffman frock.

And on the Fall 2008 catwalks... Abaete, Nicole Miller or Celine collections, among others. The creations that attracted my attention the most were the original unicolor superpositions from Haider Ackermann's collection. And talking about this kind of garmet, what about you and hoods?

Celebrity shoes: Victoria Beckham

Since some of my beloved readers keep asking me for the "Heart" sandals by Marc Jacobs worn by Victoria Beckham during the CFDA Awards and also for her Allure Party, I've been trying to find them and here they are. Fabulous.

¡tacones!

The so far latest feet jewels designed by Marc Jacobs and spotted on Victoria were these maxi platform pumps with metallic heels in the form of teardrops from the Spring 2009 collection (I'm still in love with her bag). Not everybody would be able to walk in this kind of vertiginous footwear. Victoria shows us not only is easy to walk in it, but is also the most comfy thing to choose to go shopping with her boys. Brave woman. Love it. With a pair of... heels!

You maybe remember I was asking myself whether this year we're going to see Victoria wearing the famous heel-less shoes by Antonio Berardi. And I'm very sorry I missed this moment...

When I saw these "boot-leggins" on the runway, I was asking myself on top of who's going to be the first one in wearing them, also how do you clean this 2 in 1 piece. The first question was answered by Victoria, the second one is still a mistery for me. And maybe they are not 2 in 1, just extremely thigh-high boots... but anyway, wouldn't you like to try them on right now?

There was another designer that included these curious footwear-garmet 2 in 1 to his Fall 2008 collection. Martin Margiela. While above seem they are made from PVC, these ones look like leather (even though with all the sophisticated fabrics and materials there are and are being invented as we speak, one never knows until having touched the item), with a looong zip and metallic "nail" heels.

Not sure whether Carine Roitfelds' Martin Margiela boots are "boot-leggins", but I didn't find a better image to show you the wonderful detail of both the zip and heels. Don't know how comfortable they are but love them.
