Celebrity Trend: Coloured Jeans

Me encanta la tendencia de pantalones de color que empezó el año pasado con pitillos de colores. Al equipo encabezado de las trend setters Victoria Beckham y Rihanna, más tarde también entraron Katie Holmes, Cameron Diaz y Alicia Keys.

Victoria además esta temporada combina dos tendencias - forma y color - y es la primera que se atrevió a lucir un pantalón campana de color.

Rihana, de momento, es fiel a los pitillos que para mí, como ya sabes, por mucha intención que tengan los diseñadores en introducir "nuevas formas" - anchos, campana, altos - seguirán de moda para siempre. Amen.
Rihana on the other hand, as of now, sticks to the skinny models that for me, as you already know, despite of designers keep trying to introduce "new fits" - wide, flared, high waisted - skinny jeans will always be in & hot. Amen.



Faltan 15 días. Dos semanitas y un día y las chicas después del estreno en Londres el lunes, viajaron a Berlin, para estrenar la película ahí mismito. El estreno el lunes fue espectacular. Miles de personas esperando durante largísimas horas (¡algunos fans estuvieron esperando más de 24 horas!) a ver a sus chicas favoritas -guapísimas las cuatro- que regalaban las mejores de sus sonrisas a todo el mundo. Tengo que decir que las cuatro me sorprendieron. Cada una por un motivo diferente.
15 días left. Two weeks and one day left and the girls after the premiere in London on Monday, traveled to Berlin for the next European premiere. Their London night was spectacular. Thousands of fans were waiting many long hours (some of them even more than 24 hrs!) to see their favourite girls -stunning the four of them. All four of them surprised me. Each one for a different reason.





Sarah Jessica Parker para su estreno mundial eligió al duo de diseñadores británicos Alexander McQueen y Philip Treacy que ya trabajaron juntos para preparar la pasarela de la colección de Primavera/Verano 2007.
Sarah Jessica has chosen the british designers duo Alexander McQueen and Philip Treacy that have already worked together for McQueen's Spring 2008 collection catwalk.



No me sorprendió la elección de Alexander McQueen dado que es uno de sus diseñadres favoritos (¿te acuerdas de la Costume Institute Gala del 2006?) y también poque ya se rumoreaba que la actriz pasó largas horas en una sesión de prueba con el diseñador, lo único que no se sabía era en cual de las carpetas rojas lucirá el vestido.
I was not surprised because she's chosen Alexander McQueen since he is one of her favourite designers (do you remember the 2006 Costume Institute Gala?) and also because of the rumours she's spent many hours in fitting with the designer (the only thing that was not revealed was on which one out of all SATC red carpets she's going to wear his creation).



Lo que me sorprendió era tanto el color - ese color verde pálido que no me gusta nada - como el mismo vestido que no era nada del otro mundo. Pero igual solamente soy yo quien esperaba algo diferente pues las críticas que leí eran muy positivas.
What surprised me were both the colour - that pale green I don't like at all - as well as the dress itself that, having in mind Alexander's style, was nothing special. But maybe it's only me who wanted to see her in something different since the feedbacks I read were overall very positive.





Kim me sorprendió con su elección de diseñador. Después de haber visto a Carrie en el vestido de Vivienne Westwood que se convirtió en el visual oficial de la película y después de haber visto su vestido de boda... lo único que no me esperaba era ver a Kim en la primera carpeta roja de la película disfrazada de Carrie. El vestido me sigue pareciendo fabuloso pero no para ella para esta ocasión.
Kim did suprised me with her designer choice. After having seen Carrie's Vivienne Westwood dress that has become iconic official visual of the movie and after having seen her wedding dress... the only thing I would have never ever expected was to see Kim on her first red carpet disguised as Carrie. I still love the dress very much, I find it fabulous but not on her for this occasion.






Cynthia me sorprendió con lo sxy que iba en su vestido de Calvin Klein. Muy sxy. Espectacular. Aplaudo.

Kristin me sorprendió con su elección. Muy elegante en su vestido color fresa de Guy Laroche pero para mí gusto quizás demasiado sobrio y señora. Teniendo la posibilidad de elegir el vestido que se te ocurra de cualquier diseñador del mundo ¿no hubieras elegido un modelito o un diseñador distinto?
Kristin surprised me with her dress choice. I mean she was very elegant in her strawberry Guy Laroche Haute Couture dress but for me quite too simple and made her looking older. Having the possibility of chosing any dress you can imagine from any designer on the planet, wouldn't you chose something different?





Por supuesto no faltó Patricia Field que completó su look con unas sandalias de Dior que a todo el mundo nos sonaban muchísimo.

Patricia Field's latest project has nothing to do with clothes. Instead, the stylist has lent her creativity to the limited-edition diet Coke City Collection bottles. "The designs represent diet Coke as a sexy, sassy brand perfectly compatible with today's woman". Career, Passion, Love and Fashion, are the names of her four creations. Metropolitan Museum: Superheroes - Fashion and Fantasy

El tema del último par de días son los modelitos y actitudes de las celebrities que acudieron al evento de Costume Institute Gala en el Metropolitan Museum en Nueva York (que en Nueva York se considera como party del año).
The hot theme of the last couple of days have been the dresses and actitudes of the celebrities that attended the New York's Metropolitan Museum Costume Institute Gala - considered the party of the year.

El encargado de Costume Institute, Harold Koda, cuando le preguntaron por la razón detás de haber elegido precisamente el tema de superhéroe, explicó que la popularidad de estos personajes en actualidad es tan enorme que se puede comparar con la de los años cuarenta - la edad de oro de los comics en EEUU. Batman, Superman, Spiderman, The Hulk, Iron Man... solamente este verano se estrenarán seis nuevas películas con algún superhéroe como protagonista. Y tanto el vestuario icónico de los súper hombres, como el de las súper mujeres como Wonderwoman, Spiderwoman, Catwoman, inspiraron a lo largo de la historia a muchos diseñadores. La exposición se puede visitar hasta el 1 de septiembre.
The Costume Institute’s curator-in-charge, Harold Koda, was on hand to explain the raison d’etre behind this year’s theme, a radical departure from other galas which have featured iconic designers such as Poiret and Chanel. Recently, he said, there had been a surge in popularity of the superhero, something which had not been witnessed since America’s “golden age” of comic books in the 1940’s. He cited Hollywood’s fascination with Batman, Superman and Spiderman. There were six new movies due out this summer, he said, including a new Batman and a filmic version of The Hulk. The superhero’s iconic costume of cape, mask and bodysuit, was continually being referenced in fashion, along with designs inspired by his female counterparts, Wonder Woman, SpiderWoman and CatWoman. And the exhibition (you can visit until September 1) reveals how the superhero serves as the ultimate metaphor for fashion and its fascination with an idealized fantasy body.

La exposición incluye más que 60 trajes de películas, alta moda vanguardista, ready-to-wear y trajes deportivos para profesionales. Los diseñadores más famosos del mundo, entre otros Armani, Versace, Moschino, Dolce & Gabbana, Balenciaga, Thierry Mugles, Pirre Cardin, Jean Paul Gaultier, Alexander McQueen, John Galliano, prestaron sus creaciones para la exposición.
The gala will open on May 5th with an exhibition featuring more than 60 movie costumes, avant-garde haute couture, ready-to-wear and high performance sportswear.
Some of the world’s best-known designers are lending pieces for the exhibition including Armani, Versace, Moschino, Dolce & Gabbana, Balenciaga, Thierry Mugler, Pierre Cardin, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Alexander McQueen, John Galliano, among others.

The other dress everybody was talking about was the one of Victoria Beckham, also created by Giorgio Armani, about 20 years ago. I found it a very good choice for the occasion. She looked like the Snow Queen. What I didn't like very much was her hairdo. And what I didn't like at all what her make up...

And the red Lanvin parachute dress as well (what a coincidence, the same combination of colours as chosen by Katie). Because is one of the most photographed dressed of this season.

SFQ is baaack!!!

No he desaparecido... No os abandoné... Y de verdad muchas gracias a tod@s por vuestros e-mails. Solamente que a veces nos pasan cosas que enseguida cogen la máxima prioridad y no te queda mucho tiempo para pensar en muchas otras cosas, incluyendo tu blog. Así que mil gracias por seguir ahí, significa mucho para mí (y los que tenéis vuestro propio blog sabéis de qué hablo, ¿verdad?).
I didn't dissapear... I didn't abandon you either... Many thanks to all your e-mails. Only that sometimes the things that happen to you inmediately become your max priority and you don't have enough time to thing about many other things, including your blog. But thanks for staying tuned, it means a lot to me (and those who have your own blog know what I'm talking about, don't you?).

El lugar del gran estreno sigue siendo Nueva York, pero el estreno mundial es la semana que viene en Londres. Nuestras cuatro chicas, por supuesto, estarán presentes, pero por lo visto se tratará de un evento mucho más pequeño. No soy la única que no entiende nada, pero es lo que hay... Mirandolo de forma positiva - ya que no podemos hacer otra cosa - vamos a poder disfrutar de una carpeta roja más. Y hablando de la carpeta de esta película, merecerá la pena.
The big premiere will take place in New York as planned but the world premiere is taking place next week in London. Our four girls will attend of course, but apparently this event will be much smaller. i'm not the only one who doesn't understad anything, but this is all there is... Looking at this in a positive way - since we don't have other option here - we'll be able to enjoy one red carpet event more. And talking about this movie red carpet, it'll be worth it for sure.

Las cuatro chicas juntas, además de un encuetro con periodistas donde no se pudieron tomar fotos (y por lo tanto no cuenta), aparecieron juntas por primera vez el viernes pasado en su primer banquete con periodistas. The four girls all together again, on top of the meeting with press people where nobody was alowed to take pictures (and thus this one doesn't count), attended the Sex and the City Movie Junket last Friday. And before you ask me, Sarah Jessica's dress is by Narcisco Rodriguez and the sandals are Victor & Rolf.

The four sxy femme fatales were talking about their movie that includes 300 wardrobe changes for the girls and 81 alone for Sarah Jessica Parker (if you do the counting, that’s one every one and half minute!). Like Cynthia said, "These women, are the ultimate female superheroes. It’s just that, instead of, you know capes, they have bags and shoes”.
