Rihanna loves Betsey Johnson

For the last perfomance last Friday in Chicago, Rihanna has chosen this Betsey Johnson dress.

Just one day after Lil Mama rocked an embellished version of the same dress.

This is not the first time Rihanna opts for a Betsey Johnson creation and the truth is that I love all of them. The label matched so much with Rihanna's style I can imagine Betsey Johnson designing the wardrobe for Rihanna's next tour. Rihanna's last three elections (the first one she wore it past season and many of us thought it was by Luella):

59 days left. Betsey Johnson and Patricia Field are close friends but I'm sure this is not the reason why Patricia included several Betsey's creations to Carrie's closet.

¿Te acuerdas de su vestido en el capítulo "A woman's right to shoes"?
Do you remember her dress in "A woman's right to shoes" chapter?

Or the top she was wearing during her famous fall (and posterior mega shopping spree) in Dior in Paris? Also by Betsey Johnson.

P.S. for those who want to know how the bid with Kristin Davis I told you the other day about ended. Well, the winner is a japanese fan. Her bid was no less than 52.000$!!!

Leather or leather like pants: celebrity craze

Among the last fashion queens to follow the leather (or leather like) skinny pants or leggins celebrity trend is Victoria Beckham (yesterday in London).

However on the other hand, she was among the first ones since this pants she rocked them on Spice Girl Tour stages already.

As of today, the list is quite large and these are not all the girls that were daring enough to wear this kind of pants. Today's toast is for all of you, them, us
that are daring (this time let's please exclude Celine Dion because her Chanel dress & leather leggins enseble is just a crime)!

64 left and talking about toasts, I'm sure we're going to see a nice one (o several) in the movie. I don't know whether our girls will drink Cosmos or Flirtini (you surely remember this fabulous mix of vodka, pineapple juice and champagne our fab four used to drink)...

What I know for sure is that if we see them drinking something with vodka, it won't be Absolut but SKYY Vodka. The responsible of both parts signed a sponsorship and promotional deel. Enter here, you can become a member of the club and if you're lucky enough you can winn tickets for the premiere in Nueva York!

SFQ's star closets visit

Back home, back to work and to my beloved blog. Today we're going to visit some of the sxy fashion queens' closets. Afterwards you're going to tell me how did you find this short trip.

Kimora Lee Simmons
Kimora Lee Simmons, head of Baby Phat clothing line, combined two bedrooms in her 49,000-square-foot Saddle River, N.J. home to create her expansive walk-in closet. "I wanted my closet to look like a boutique," she says. It contains over 500 pairs of jeans, 35 custom-made Hermes Birkin bags and an extensive collection of jewelry. The closet, which is decorated with leopard-print carpet, marble columns, a mini-bar, and flat screen tvs, only holds some of her clothes—the overflow is stored in other bedroom closets. Everything in her closet is photographed and stored on her computer so she can easily put together outfits.

Eva Longoria
The 133-square-foot master closet in Eva Longoria Parker's L.A. home is full of gorgeous gowns, shoes, jeans, shirts—and a coveted Hermes hot-pink crocodile Birkin bag. Taking a glance through her impressive shoe collection she calls her Christian Louboutin espadrille wedges "a beautiful pain" (she sprained her ankle wearing them in Paris) and says she has "always dressed for comfort", which is easily confirmed by the 50 pairs of jeans. Two of the dresses you can see on the third picture, she rocked them last year, rememeber?

Kim Cattrall

White Lucite, silver-framed doors conceal the actress's 44-square-foot (this measure is, in hollywood terms, quite small, isn't it?) closet with its double-hung racks and endless shelves of shoes and purses. The closet she created—"a sanctuary with sunlight," she says—is a sort of isthmus between bedroom and bath. "I never had a space like this," she says of the shoe shelves loosely arranged by heel (high or low) or toe (open or closed). "I used to have one tiny rack I shared with my ex, so I used to put my shoes all over the house. They were displayed like art."

Mariah Carey
A diva with diva menners and a divine walk-in closet. "I have about 1,000 pairs of shoes. But lots are in storage," says Mariah. The glamour girl keeps her designer stilettos, wedges and boots uncluttered and artfully on display in her 12,000-square-foot Manhattan triplex. With the help of renowned N.Y.C. decorator Mario Buatta, Mariah designed the gold-leaf and bleached-wood floor in the shoe closet. "Like Louis Vuitton luggage," she says, "it will only look better over time."

66 días left. Talking about what's in Carrie's closet the other day we were talking about Proenza Schouler ensemble and shoes she will wear in the movie. I think that here we have two potential members of her club. ;o)

Sarah Jessica Parker won the ShoWest "Vanguard Award". Dressed in a super mini dress by Maison Martin Margiela, on top of receiving the price, she also answered to several questions of the press:

What was the best part of making “Sex and the City: The Movie?”
“Honestly, the best part was just being there together on the set the first day. Being together. It took a lot to get this movie back up and running. It’s taken 1 1/2 years of my life to cobble it all together and to find ourselves on the set playing these women again. Surrounded by crew who have been there from the beginning, and surrounded on the peripheral by hundreds of women and the paparazzi. It was really kind of heavenly to be there again and shooting at the perfect time in New York City — the most romantic time — late summer, early fall. Things just don’t generally work out like this. It was a thrill. The whole experience from the first day to the last.”

Tell me how you work with Patricia Fields on Carrie’s costumes.
“With Patricia, it’s extremely collaborative. My rule with Pat is, I will try anything on. I don’t care how ludicrous or ridiculous or silly, because she just loves telling stories with clothes. Every now and then something I find absurd somehow works, so I will try anything on for her. And honestly one of the best parts of the experience is a fitting with Pat and her team, because it’s just crazy. It’s the most amazing, beautiful, ridiculous clothes in one room. It’s great. She is an incredible storyteller.”

Did any of your own clothing line get into the wardrobe?
“My clothing line (Bitten) wasn’t (included in the wardrobe for the movie) because, as one of our producers said, you know, there is no Sarah Jessica Parker in Carrie Bradshaw’s world. She doesn’t exist, so there can’t be a Bitten clothing line.”

Out of the city...

Qué envidia, ¿no?

Eva Longoria: Flower Power.

Eva Longoria's B-day. For the celebration with her friends in her recently opened restaurant Beso, she's chosen this flower dress by Gucci. The same Jennifer Garner rocked end last year.

76 days left. And since we were talking about Gucci the other day, today's key word is flowers. And no, I won't show you a recopilation of all the outfits with flowers Carrie wore in the serie or will have on in the movie, I'll show you just one. This one:

Is crystal clear not everybody likes this dress. There are people, and I'm in this club, that love it. And there are those who ask themselves what was Patricia Field thinking of while chosing precisely this "where are you going without a flower" dress for Carrie. I don't know what she was thinking of. What I know abso(fucking)lutely for sure is that not everybody knows who rocked the same dress some years ago - to be precise 20 years ago.

Sorpresa, sorpresa... ¡la mismísima Whitney Houston!
Surprise, surprise... Whitney Houston herself!

I'm glad all of you loved the first part of the interview with our four girls. So this is the second one (last but one):

¿QUÉ PASARÁ EN LA PELÍCULA!
SO WHAT HAPPENS IN THE MOVIE?

The women were stingy with any details, but the new trailer shows that Charlotte’s raising her adopted Asian daughter and might finally get pregnant. Miranda and Steve are having problems, Samantha may be with Smith but she still has a roving eye. And Carrie and Big are wedding-bound, but… Are they?

Sarah Jessica Parker
The movie doesn’t pick up right where the series ended, it's a few years later, which makes everything - well, in terms of Carrie’s life specifically, there's much more at stake. There’s a lot more time invested in her relationship with Big, and obviously in her friendships, her career and what she thinks is the destination point in her life.

The story—which is like the whole series—is about friendship and growing up and the decisions we make and the triumphs. And it's about the massive disappointment and the mistakes, and what you learn and what you don’t learn when you should learn. A lot of this movie is going to be surprising to people. This is a grown-up movie.

Things happen in this movie that are very… Basically, it's about the despair you feel when you’re 20 versus the despair you feel or the loss you feel when you’re 40, and they are vastly different. And the movie really addresses it, and it really looks at how important your friendships are.

The movie is just so packed with stuff. And something major happens that fundamentally changes who Carrie is. She’s a new person in a lot of ways in this movie, because she finds herself at the crucible for the first time. Everything is different.

Cynthia Nixon
Miranda is still in Brooklyn, is still unhappy about it, and still advancing at her job, in her firm. Her son is thriving but her marriage is kind of mmmmm—not doing so great. We are dealing with unfaithfulness, but even more than unfaithfulness, I think we are just dealing with the daily grind that can take its toll on a relationship.

Miranda also has her mother-in-law who has Alzheimer’s to care for, which takes up a lot of time. So I think that just the relationship suffers, the relationship is the dispensable thing on the back burner.

Kristin Davis
Charlotte is trying to be a good mother. She has her adopted daughter, and she’s an overachiever so #1 in her mind would be to be a good mother and friend, and a good wife, too. My fear is that there are no surprises left. People are going to pay to see it and I hope there will be something that will be a surprise.

Cynthia Nixon
We're all kind of further along in our lives. But I also think two things: One is that in order to justify our coming back, and also being on the big screen, we need to have big stories. So I think the stakes are really, really high. And I also feel like the way we, the four characters deal with each other, is more mature than it was. None of us are single anymore. We're all in our own little “queendoms” and we come together again, but it’s really on a more mature level.

Kim Cattrall
Samantha is older, we all are. And that in itself is huge. It’s a huge struggle in our world, still. And that’s why I am so happy to be of a certain age playing a woman of a certain age. We changed the way people thought about 40, so maybe we can do that with 50 and maybe 60, hopefully...

¿Y QUÉ TAL LA CONTRIBUCIÓN DE PATRICIA FIELD QUE OS VISTIÓ A TODAS?
AND WHAT ABOUT THE CONTRIBUTION OF PATRICIA FIELD, WHO DRESSED YOU ALL?

Sarah Jessica Parker
I always say that I think Pat’s work on the show was as important as the storytelling in many ways. Pat's very good at telling a story with the fashion.

Kristin Davis
Pat taught us so much, and changed us. The show, and us personally. I learned a lot. I was a neophyte in all ways to do with fashion before the show.

Cynthia Nixon
I think Pat taught us all a lot of about mixing high and low fashion. If you have one article of clothing that’s very expensive, you don’t have to have the whole ensemble and look like a Christmas tree. And she taught us to wear the clothes, to not let them wear you.

Kim Cattrall
I learned to just really be irreverent. You are usually supposed to have a specific brooch or a coat that must look in absolutely perfect taste. But Pat Field is like “F*ck that, man! Let’s make it yours, let’s have fun with it.”

Sarah Jessica Parker
“No rules.” Pat feels that fashion rules should be thrown out the window. I mean, by doing that you take great risks and people make fun of certain things, and the hits are enormous and the misses are comical.

But I’ve never said “no” to Pat. I would always try it on. I would stay in a fitting for 10, 11, 13 hours. I will try on everything on the rack, because I think Pat has a definite point of view. And even if something looks absurd to me, nothing is funnier than an absurd outfit at 3 or 4 in the morning after a 14-hour day on the set. Nothing is better than a fitting with Pat.

Kim Cattrall
You go into Pat’s playroom—as I call it—and it stinks like cigarettes and there’s pizza, take-out food, stuff everywhere. And she’s got a little bit of everything in there. She has designer stuff and like a rag-picker's assortment of jewelry from the ’30s and ’40s. It’s so much fun because you really feel like it’s dress-up time.

Sarah Jessica Parker
Really, this idea that I’m some kind of fashion icon is, in large part, due to Pat. She’s a remarkable person.

Carrie & Big @ Vogue, part II.

The same magazine, the same couple, the same photographer. More pictures from the session of Carrie & Big for Vogue.

79 days left. Both Carrie and Sarah Jessica since always got us used to see her in this kind of princess dresses. We saw several on Carrie and many on red carpet events Sarah Jessica attended (even for her perfumes advertising campaigns the team has chosen them). And of course this is just a small selection.

Seeing the pictures I think they were very but very cold during the session...

Parte I.:
During the last press conference our four friends gave for the press people from all around the world some days ago in Ritz-Carlton hotel in NY (taking pictures was forbiden thus can't share anything with you but two photos of Cynthia and Kristin leaving the hotel), the girl were talking a bit about everything (I'm not going to share all the interview with you today, so you don't get an overdose ;o). Part I.:

SOBRE COMO EL SUEÑO DE HACER PElÍCULA SE HIZO REALIDAD
ON HOW THE MOVIE CAME TO BE

Kim Cattrall
Early last year Chris Albrecht from HBO called me when I was just about to go to Dublin, Ireland to do a thing for ITV. He told me, “I was in a movie theatre watching The Devil Wears Prada, it was absolutely packed and I looked around and realized, ‘We created this audience.’ And I think we really need to do the film.”

Cynthia Nixon
I yo era como... "Pues claro".
I got a call from Chris Albrecht and he said, “I wanna do this. Are you on board?” I was like... “Well, sure.” And then about a year later we found ourselves making it.

Sarah Jessica Parker
It was all amazing. I started working on putting this movie back together in the spring of 2006, so by the time we started shooting on September 19th, 2007 it was so unreal to me that we had managed to get all the parts and pieces together. Michael Patrick [King] and I worked endlessly for the last year prior to shooting. Everything was so complicated, and to produce this movie was a massive undertaking. But then all of a sudden there we were on September 19th to start shooting and it was… It was a dream, honestly.

SOBRE EL RODAJE Y EL INTERËS PÚBLICO
ON MAKING THE MOVIE & THE PUBLIC INTEREST

It was wild. My first day was the second or third day of filming, when all four of us were working for the first time. We were back in these outfits, and these heels again. And we'd been away from it, and now there were 200 people and photographers on the street watching, which was very new for us. And we had to re-learn how to walk down the street and walk in unison and not teeter over in our heels, but it kind of felt great. What it felt like was a four-headed eight-legged organism.

Cynthia said, it’s like almost going back to high school. There’s an intense familiarity between us, and we are in many ways like sisters. We finish each others’ sentences and we were never separated from each other. People kept saying how is it to be back together? But we were never separated, we just had to go back to being our characters which was a very surreal.

It was so easy. God, it was so fabulous—and fun. The most difficult thing was the first day, there were so many crowds on the street and they were screaming and yelling and I just was really kind of... It kind of broke my concentration. I was overwhelmed, as I think all of us were. Because I didn’t know what to expect and there’s someone screaming in the middle of a scene, “I love you Samantha!” or “Carrie, I’m over here!”

The cacophony and insanity... It was shocking—mainly because of the paparazzi now. My first day shooting was with Chris Noth and there were maybe 10 paparazzi video cameras on us all day all the time. While we were acting, and while we weren’t. We’d had the paparazzi before, but not the video before. It was weird having video cameras in your face all the time. That was new.
