Beyoncé durante una de sus últimas actuaciones en Las Vegas. La chaqueta que tenía puesta encima de su catsuit es una de las piezas de la colección de Alta Costura de Jean Paul Gaultier Primavera 2009.

Por lo visto esta maravilla que parece hecha de una sofisticada tela de araña adornada con miles de diminutas cuentas, mostacillas y chaquiras es tan frágil que para transportarla es necesario rellenarla para evitar que se doble y pierda su forma. Me da la impresión que no pesa nada pero sería marravilloso poder comprobarlo, ¿no te parece?

Apparently this wonder with complex squiggly macramé and lace effects embelished with thousands of beads that looks like made from a sophisticated spider web, is actually so fragile that for the transportation it's necessary to literally "stuff" it in order to avoid bending the cage and ruining the shape. I have an impression it has to be very light when you have it on but wouldn't it be fantastic to check it personally?

Simplemente Madonna. Es como los organizadores denominaron la exposición dedicada a la reina Madgy que puedes visitar en Londres hasta el 22 de Marzo. Se trata de la colección privada más amplia a nivel mundial, hace un repaso por las tres décadas de la carrera y la vida privada de la estrella y contiene más que 300 piezas de vestuario, fotos, objetos de sus películas y artículos personales.

Podrás ver unos 30 vestidos de la película "Evita", incluyendo el del baile inaugural que originalmente ha sido creado para Carol Lawrence y que la actriz Daryl Hannah, acompañando a JFK Jr, llevaba para la audiencia con la Reina de Inglaterra.

Simply Madonna. The title of the exhibition devoted to the Queen Madgy you can visit in London until march 22. Is the world’s largest private collection of Madonna’s film and stage costumes and artefacts that traces 3 decades of Madonna's career and personal life and includes 300 pieces of film and concert outfits, photographs, film props and personal items.

You can see about 30 dresses from "Evita" movie, including the inaugural ball dress originally made for Carol Lawrence and then worn by actress Daryl Hannah while accompanying JFK Jr. to meet the Queen of England.


Una de las piezas más valoradas es el vestido fucsia que Madonna lució en el video "Material Girl". Que, por lo visto, habiendo sabido que el título de esta canción se iba a convertir en su apodo para toda la carrera, Madonna probablemente nunca la hubiera grabado.

One of the most valuable pieces is the pink satin gown Madonna wore in the "Material Girl" video. According to Marquee Capital, Madonna often remarks that it is the song she regrets recording most, for the fact that it became her nickname. She has said if she knew it would be her nickname throughout her career she probably would have never recorded it.

Me encanta el detalle del collar incporporado.

Aunque en como lo lleva la cantante no se distingue mucho (lo puedes apreciar mejor en la foto de la pasarela y backstage), el vestido tiene incorporado otro detalle. Un cinturón "capa" por si de repente hace fresquito. Vamos que no necesitas adornos adicionales (en este caso Bee se pasó un pelín para mi gusto). Solamente un par de buenos tacones y estás ready para ser la reina de la noche.

Even though you can't see it well on Beyoncé, you can appreciate it on the pictures from the catwalk and backstage, the dress includes another detail. A "belt - cape" so in case you suddenly feel a fresh breeze. No need of additional accessories (Bee's jewelry choice is just too much for me). Just a pair of great heels and you're ready to be a queen of the night.

En su momento dediqué un buen rato a la búsqueda de alguna foto del abrigo de Jean Paul Gaultier que lleva Beyoncé en esta foto promocional en la que se podría apreciar la pieza por detrás. Sobre todo me interesaba ver la parte del cuello. No la encontré. Esta era la mala noticia.

Some weeks ago I dedicated quite a lot of time looking for the detail of the back of the Jean Paul Gaultier coat Beyoncé wears on this promo picture. I wanted to see the collar from behind. I didn't find it. This was the bad news.

Déjà Vu: Mariacarla Boscono

Desde que vi a Mariacarla Boscono en uno de los primeros visuales de la campaña de Dolce & Gabbana Primavera 2009, me recordaba a otra campaña.

When I saw one of the first visuals of Mariacarla Boscono for Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2009, it was remindig me of another campaign.


No estaba segura ni de la marca ni la temporada, así que tardé un poco en dar con la respuesta. Ayer por la noche la encontré. Buscando un detalle que no tiene nada que ver... Leyes de Murphy... Casualmente la protagonista es Mariacarla y coincidentalmente tamién se trata de una campaña de primavera. Concretamente de Jean Paul Gaultier Primavera 2006.

I was not sure about the label nor about the season, I just felt I saw something very similar before. I've been looking for the answer ever since. I found it yesterday while looking for something completely different... Murphy's law... Coincidentally the face of the campaign was Mariacarla herself and coincidentally it was a Spring campaign. Jean Paul Gaultier Spring 2006.

Esta pieza, al igual que varias prendas de la misma colección, me recuerda al famosísimo vestido "jaula" de Grace Jones.

This piece, same as several outfits from the same collection, reminds me of the famous cage dress worn by Grace Jones.

Kelly Rowland no se comió mucho la cabeza eligiendo modelito para el evento "La Noche Glamurosa en Milano" en Just Cavalli Cafe, organizado como parte de Milan Fashion Week 2008. Lució el mismo vestido negro de Roberto Cavalli que hace dos años llevaba durante una party privada y que, coicidentalmente, es el mismo que primero lució Victoria Beckham para la party de Vogue durante Milan Fashion Week 2005.
