What a coincidence... Beyoncé & Lady Gaga in Thierry Mugler

Supongo que a estas alturas ya viste los últimos videos de Lady Gaga y Beyoncé. Dos trabajos muy diferentes con una cosa en común. Ambas lucieron una de las creaciones metálicas vintage de Thierry Mugler.

I believe you've already seen the latest Lady Gaga and Beyoncé videoclips. Two very different works with one thing in common. Both of them rocked one of the metallic vintage creations by Thierry Mugler.

El video de Lady Gaga "Paparazzi" está dirigido por Jonas Åkerlund. Su pareja, B. Åkerlund se acaba de convertir en la primera estilista personal de la cantante. Y por lo que he visto en la mini-película "Paparazzi", ha sido todo un acierto. Y aunque en el video se utilizaron varias prendas vintage del diseñador, el "robot" de Thierry Mugler, según dijo la estilista a la revista Anthem, era su gran sueño para Gaga.

Lady Gaga's "Paparazzi" video is directed by Jonas Åkerlund. His wife, B. Åkerlund became the first official stylist of the singer. And after seeing the mini movie "Paparazzi", for me this is a great match. Even though several vintage pieces from Thierry Mugler were used in the video, according to the Anthem Magazine, the very famous Thierry Mugler robot was B. Åkerlund's biggest dream for Gaga.

Seguramente te sonará haber visto la pieza en las fotos de MET y en el video "Too Funky" de George Michael (otra cosa que tienen en común las dos chias - cada una lució una pieza de este videoclip)...

It surely looks familiar to you and the last time you saw it somewhere, it was probably on the photos taken during the last MET exhibition and also in George Michael "Too Funky" videoclip (another thing both ladies have in common - each of them wore one Thierry Mugler piece from this videoclip)...


Con esta elección Lady Gaga se ha convertido en uno de los muchos cuerpos famosos y no tan famosos que han sido "adornados" con este famosísimo outfit metálico de Thierry Mugler.

With this choice Lady Gaga became one of the famous and not that famous bodies that have been "adorned" with this Thierry Mugler metallic outfit.

Esta obra de Thierry no es tan conocida, pero es una pasada. Incluso pensaba que iba a formar parte del vestuario de la gira. En todos estos años que llevo enamoradísima del trabajo de Thierry, solamente la volví a ver en un visual publicitario firmado por el fotógrafo Yves Lavallette (que fotografió ambos milagros metálicos de Thierry).

This Thierry's piece is not as famous as the other one, but I love it even more. I even hoped it would be included to the I am... tour wardrobe. In all these years I've been in love with Thierry's work, I just saw it once, on the advertising visual signed by Yves Lavallette (that photographed both metallic wonders by Thierry).

What a coincidence... Heidi Klum & Rihanna

En cuestión de un par de días, primero Heidi Klum en negro y luego Rihanna en marrón (si te suena el vestido de Christopher Kane que lleva es porque igual lo has visto a Julia Restoin Roitfeld).

Y tres días después Jana Pallaske. El look de Frédérique me encantó. Aunque sustituiría la cartera. A Jana le cambiaría las sandalias. Por otras u otro tipo de calzado. Y para no ir más lejos, ¿por qué no por las plataformas peep-toe de Paule Ka? Son una delicia.

What a coincidence: Joy Bryant & Sophie Marceau

El tema de estos días es el Festival de Cannes. Películas. Premios. Estrellas. Y muchos, muchos modelitos de alfombra roja de los que hablar. Sophie Marceau vino para promocionar su película "Ne te retourne pas" y para el photocall eligió el mono platino de Missoni Primavera 2009. Coincidentalmene optó por el mismísimo modelito que Joy Bryant lució en la fiesta de BMW en Febrero 2009.

Everybody talks about Cannes Film Festival. Movies. Awards. Star-studded events. And a lot, a lot of red carpet outfits to talk about. Sophie Marceau attended the festival to promote her "Ne te retourne pas" film and for the photocall she's chosen the Platinum Jumpsuit from Missoni Spring 2009 collection. Coincidentally the same one Joy Bryant wore for one of the BMW events back in February.

Cuando vi la portada de Emily Blunt para Harpers Bazaar UK que salía en Marzo 2009...

... me preguntaba cuantas portadas protagonizará este vestido de Gucci.

... I was asking myself on how many covers will feature this Gucci gown.


Coincidentalmente más o menos al mismo tiempo Mónica Cruz eligió este vestido de la colección Gucci Primavera 2009 para la party de Vanity Fair.

Coincidentally more or less at the same time I found Emily's cover, Mónica Cruz was spotted on the Vanity Fair Party red carpet rocking the same gown. 


Y solamente un mes después de Emily, salía la portada de Salma Hayek para InStyle. De momento la segunda protagonizada por la maravilla azul. Salma en la revista, entre otros, habla de su color favorito: "El nombre más bonito de un color en Español es azul, en Inglés blue, que también me encanta como suena. Mi perro se llama Blue."

And only one month after here we have the second "blue Gucci" cover. Salma Hayek for InStyle April 2009. Inside the magazine Salma talks, among others, about her favourite colour: "The most beautiful color name in Spanish is azul, which is blue, and I love the word in English, too. I have a dog named Blue."

Casualidades de la vida... Penélope Cruz para la boda de Salma Hayek casualmente eligió este vestido asimétrico del cual hasta ayer por la noche, cuanto por fin encontré mejores instantáneas, incluso pensaba que se trataba de la misma pieza que su íntima amiga lució en la portada... Pero aunque el color es el mismo y los vestidos se parecen como dos gotas de agua, el de Pe está firmado, según la revista Hola, por Versace. 

Life is full of coincidences... Penélope Cruz has coincidentally chosen this blue assymetrical dress for Salma Hayek's wedding. Until yesterday night, when I finally get some better takes, I thought is the same dress her best friend wore on her InStyle cover... But even though the colour is the same and the dresses are like two drops of water, the gown Penélope wore is Versace, according to the Spanish magazine Hola.

Por un momento incluso pensaba que es Pamela Anderson... Después de haber visto varias fotos parecidas me di cuenta que se trata de Lady Gaga... Pasé y seguía con mi búsqueda. Al final no encontré lo que buscaba pero encontré otra instantánea muy interesante. La foto fue tomada durante uno de los primeros conciertos de la gira The Fame Ball de Lady Gaga.

I just gave it a quick look and even for a moment thought it was Pamela Anderson... Just after having seen several similar pictures I realized it was Lady Gaga... But it was nothing of my interest so I kept looking for what I had in mind. Until I found this photo taken during one of the first concerts of Lady Gaga's Fame Ball Tour.

What a coincidence... Baby Phat Multi Smocked Tube Jumpsuit

Mi amiga Thesil es la que se fijó en esta coincidencia. Prácticamente al mismo tiempo. Con tan sólo un día de diferencia. Ana Álvarez en la alfombra roja de Fotogramas de Plata y Danielle Lloyd en la de Children's Champions Awards.

It was my friend Thesil who spotted this coincidence. Practically at the same time. Ana Álvarez on Fotogramas de Plata event red carpet and about 24 hrs later Danielle Loyd on the one of Children's Champions Awards.


Ambas coincidentalmente eligieron el mismo mono de Baby Phat. Aunque soy una gran fan de la marca en particular y los monos en general, este modelito pijamoide no me está gustando desde que lo vi en la presentación de la colección. Aunque, las cosas como son, a ninguna de las dos chicas les queda nada mal.

Both ladies have coincidentally chosen the same Baby Phat Multi Smocked Tube jumpsuit. Even though I'm a huge fan of Baby Phat in particular and of jumpsuits in general, this pyjamas kind of jumpsuit I didn't like it since I the very first moment I saw it in the showroom. On the other hand, it looks quite good on both Ana and Danielle.

El finde entré en el Facebook y entre otras cosas maravillosas, encontré las fotos promocionales de Angel Lola Luv. El bolerito me resultaba conocido. Tenía en la cabeza un par o tres nombres de las que pudieron haberlo lucido...

Last weekend I was going through Facebook where, among many other fab things, I found Angel Lola Luv promo pics. The ruffled bolero looked familiar to me. I had in mind like two or three names, one of which if I was not wrong, could wear it before her.


Era Rihanna. Y si te gustó el videoclip de T.I. con Rihanna: "Live Your Life", igual lo reconociste al instante.

But after digging deeper, after having seen like twenty ruffled boleros, I finally did find the answer. The piece Angel Lola Luv has coincidentally (or on purpose) chosen, is from Catherine Malandrino Spring 2008 collection.


A la diseñadora le debió gustar mucho pues esta foto es una de las que incluyó en su libro publicado para celebrar el décimo aniversario de su marca.

The designer should love it because this photo was included in her retrospective book she published as a celebration of her 10th anniversary.
