... nor the beautiful Sonam Kapoor could do anything to convince me later on in her editorial for Februrary issue of Verve magazine.

Y cuando ayer volví de viaje y vi que una de mis reinas del mundo de los zapatos - Beyoncé - los escogió para los BET Awards para completar su vestido de Balmain, me pregunté en que estuviera pensando ella y su equipo... Que alguien me explique, por favor, ¿qué hay de atractivo y sexy en unas sandalias con tacones escondidos detrás de esas cortinas de mostacillas? Dos cosas están claras: para gustos, colores (que si a todas nos gustara lo mismo, estaríamos todas vestidas igual y corriendo detrás del mismo hobre) ... y también que la que no arriesga, nunca se equivoca... pero Beyoncé, cari, ¿por qué me hiciste esto?

And when I came back from a business trip yesterday and saw what has one of my shoe queens -  Beyoncé - chosen to put on her feets for BET Awards, I was just asking myself what was her team and the star herself thinking... Can somebody please explain me what did they believed is so fierce about these heels hidden behind beaded fringe courtains? Two things are crystal clear: to each her own (if all of us like the same things we would all dress alike and run after the same man...) and if you don't risk, you never fail... but Beyoncé, honey, why did you do this to me?

Si te parece haber visto sus zapatos hace nada, estás en lo cierto. Rachel Bilson llevaba los mismos zapatos el otro día con su vestidito de 3.1 Phillip Lim (el siguiente post abajo). Son de Giuseppe Zanotti. El nombre de este zapato con plataforma interna es bastante frío: "E96082" Platform Pump. El color - lo denominaron "desierto" - es todo lo contrario.

If you feel like you saw her shoes very recently on other celebrity, your're right. Rachel Bilson wore the same pumps the other day with her 3.1 Phillip Lim dress (the post below). They are by Giuseppe Zanotti. Although the name is quite cold: "E96082" Platform Pump, the colour - "Dessert" - feels quite the opposite.

A mi me encanta. La gorra probablemente es uno de los regalos de una de sus últimas sesiones de fotos. El abrigo se llama "Tormenta" y también es de la colección de Primavera 2009 de Loewe. Parece tan suavecito. ¡Qué delicia!

Personally, I love it. The hat is probably one of the details she was given during one of her latest photo shoots. The coat is Storm Suede Coat, also from Loewe Spring 2009 collection. Looks deliciously soft.

Primero pensaba que son de Pierre Hardy de la colección de Otoño 2007.

When I saw them I thought they are Pierre Hardy Fall 2007.


Como seguía sin encontrar los peep-toes de esta marca adornados con bolitas, empecé a pensar en otra colección. La de Dior de esta primavera (vistos por ejemplo a Beyoncé).

Since I didn't find the peep-toes adorned with bubbles from this brand, I became thinking about other label and collection. Dior Spring 2008 (spotted on Beyoncé).


Finalmente las encontré por casualidad mientras estaba buscando otra cosa (leyes de Murphy...). No son de Pierre Hardy, ni tampoco son de Dior. Pero igual de ahí viene la inspiración (y mi confusión...). Las maravillas que lució Rihanna en el evento de Premios AMA...

Katie Holmes hace unos días en Broadway. Una de las últimas en entrar al Club de Leggins de cuero. No puedo decir que últimamente me encanta su estilo. Lo que sí me gusta mucho en estas fotos son sus botines de Bruno Frisoni, aunque para lucir esta joya como se merece, el pantalón debería haber sido pelín más corto.

Katie Holmes some days ago in Broadway. One of the last to join the Leather Leggins Club. Can't say I've been loving her choies lately. What I do love here are the ribbon botties by Bruno Frisoni (that would have needed to be combined with just a bit shorter pants to stand out as they deserve).

Desde que vimos la pasarela de Rodarte de Otoño 2008, cuando se dice taconazos asesinos, much@s nos imaginamos alguna de las obras maestras de Christian Louboutin para Rodarte. Zapatos con plataforma con tacones infinitos, llenos de tachuelas y pinchos. O te encantan o dices "¿y ésto...?", "estos señores se han vuelto locos". Donde sí que estaremos de acuerdo es que este pedazo de zapatos -que lo que también tienen es mucho peligro y tú mism@ le darás el sentido que quieras darle- no te deja indiferente.

Since we were presented the Rodarte Fall 2008 collection, when somebody says killer heels, many of us imagine some of the works of art of Christian Louboutin for Rodarte. Platform shoes with endless heels, embelished with studs, "claws" and spikes. You either love them or say "what is this?...", "these people are going crazy...". But where we can agree with each other is that these shoes -that what they've also got is a lot of danger and yourself can give it the sense of the word you prefer- leaves no one feeling indifferent.

También estaremos de acuerdo que este modelito atípico es el típico que a los estilistas les soltará las riendas de la imaginación... Y nos los van demostrando desde hace meses. Desde las combinaciones que solamente se ven en las páginas de las revistas o en las pasarelas, hasta los looks sxy, románticos y rockeros muy llevables y muy apetecibles. Estos son algunos... We will also agree that this atypical style is the typical one that makes a stylist's imagination and creativity fly to many directions... And we're finding proves of it since months ago. From the combos you can only find in lookbooks, magazines or catwalks to very appealing sxy, romantic or rock chic looks. Below some of them... Vogue, Velvet, Elle or W Magazine. Si después de la pasarela me hubieras preguntado quienes creo que pueden llevar algo así en la vida real, te hubiera dicho Rihanna, Mary-Kate Olsen o Victoria Beckham. También puede ser Beyoncé en algún video o su hermana en uno de sus intentos por destacar. Rihanna de momento nada, aunque se lleva un punto más que las hermanas Knowles, por llevar las medias de la misma colección.

If after the presentacion of the collection you would have asked me who I think is going to wear those heels in a real life, I would say Rihanna, Mary-Kate Olsen or Victoria Beckham. Also could be Beyoncé in some of her videoclips or her sister in one of her "I'm trying oh so hard" attempts. Neither Rihanna nor Knowles sisters proved me right so far, even though Rihanna gets a point for having rocked Rodarte tights from the same collection.

Mary-Kate ya viste que ha sido un acierto aunque el punto se lo lleva el estilista. La que no me dejó plantada es Victoria que se inspiró en uno de los looks donde "los armas" de Louboutin se combinan con algo tan sumamente femenino, además de muy tendencia, como encaje. ¡No me esperaba menos de tí, Victoria! La que me sorprendió gratamente, era Janet Jackson, la fundadora de este club, que con estas joyas dignas de una verdadera diablesa, ha dado un toque muy especial a su look aparentemente básico.

Mary-Kate did but the point goes to the stylist. The one that didn't stand me up, was Victoria. She opted for a look in which her crystal "letal weapons" by Louboutin go hand in hand with something such extremely feminine, and very trendy, like lace. Didn't expect less from you, Victoria! The one that suprised me in a positive way was the founder of this club, Janet Jackson, that with these feet jewels gave to her apparently basic look a touch even an authentic devil lady would be jealous of.
