Wear Nothing but Body Art Celebrity Club

Hoy te invito a un celebrity club muy especial. Está formado por las fashion queens que alguna vez en su vida vistieron su cuerpo de body art. Que se atrevieron a lucir su cuerpo pintado o adornado con cristales Swarovski. Sólo body art y nada más...

Si no me equivoco, la fundadora es Shirley Eaton. 60’s "It Girl" famosísima, entre otros, por su papel en la película de James Bond: "Goldfinger". Aunque nos imaginamos que se tiene que tardar bastante en aplicar la pintura en todo el cuerpo, Según Shirley lo más difícil era quitarla: "Tardaron como una hora en ponermelo. Pero quitarlo era horroroso. Primero tuve que quitar parte con jabón y agua y luego tomar varios baños Turcos."

Today I'm going to invite you to a very special club which I call Wear Nothing but Body Art Celebrity Club. The members are those fashion queens that at some point of their life dressed their bodies in body art. I mean nothing but body art. Those who dared to rock their bodies painted or adorned with Swarovski crystals...

I think the founder was Shirley Eaton, 60's It Girl, famous among others for her role in James Bond "Goldfinder" movie. According to Shirley “it didn’t take long to get it on. About an hour I think. But getting it off was awful. I had to scrub it off with soap and water, then have several Turkish baths.”





Si nos quedamos en el mundo de cine, la siguiente socia sería Rebecca Romijn. Apareció prácticamente irreconocible en su papel de Mystique en la peli "X-Men". Una sesión duraba unas 8-9 horas. Además de pintura azul se le aplicaron pequeña piezas individuales de silicona, cubriendo un 60% de su cuerpo. Para Rebecca era una experiencia única e inolvidable. Cuando le preguntaron que parte del proceso era la más difícil dijo que fueron los momentos de espera durante el rodaje. Su traje era muy frágil y se desintegraba con facilidad, así que cuando llegó el momento de descanso lo difícil era elegir entre quedarse en su caravana tumbada asumiendo que luego va a tener que pasar otra media hora retocando el traje o simplemente sentarse como una piedra sin movimiento y esperar hasta la siguiente toma.

Rebecca Romijn for her role of Mystique in "X-Men" had to spend 8-9 daily getting ready for the shooting. The makeup ordeal was involving nearly 100 individual prosthetics covering some 60% of her body, plus blue bodypaint on the rest. Rebecca told press that "the most challenging part was the makeup because it’s just such a fragile costume. It’s literally disintegrating as soon as it’s finished so they are constantly touching you up. If you have an hour till the next setup you have to go back to your trailer and decide do I want to lie down, take a nap and have to endure another half hour of touching up or do I want to just sit here like a stone".

Madonna para su videoclip "Fever" cooperó con Joanne Gair, la artista más cotizada en make-up y body paint en el mundo. Joanne era responsable de make-up no solamente en este videoclip, sino también en Express Yourself, Vogue, Rain, Frozen, la gira de Blond Ambition y su documental Truth or Dare.

Madonna for her videoclip "Fever" invited Joanne Gair, an artist and image maker who has emerged as the premiere make-up artist/body painter in the world. Her work with Madonna spanned 10 years and includes numerous music videos (Express Yourself, Vogue, Fever, Rain, Frozen), the Blonde Ambition Tour and its subsequent feature documentary Truth or Dare.



Rihanna se vistió de plata para su videoclip "Umbrella". Cuando Pamela Neal, la maquilladora terminó su trabajo, en el rodaje se quedaron solamente la protagonista, el director Chris Applebaum y su asistente. El resto de equipo se quedó fuera. Cuando le preguntaron a Rihanna si el motivo de esta escena era lucir su cuerpo, la cantante contestó lo hizo porque era algo muy visual, con un efecto inesperado y muy sxy.

Rihanna in her videoclip "Umbrella" was dressed in nothing but a silver paint. Makeup artist Pamela Neal concocted a mixture that gave Rihanna a silver look. The set was closed for that shot, with only the singer, director Chris Applebaum and his assistant present. When people asked Rihanna whether the reason of this scene in the video was to show off her body, she answered she did it because it was a cool visual, unexpected, and it looked hot.

Estoy segura que te acordarás de esta famosísima portada de Demi More para Vanity Fair de Agosto 1992 (justo un año después de haber posado embarazada y desnuda para la misma revista), hecha por el equipo Joanne Gair responsable del "vestuario" y Annie Lebowitz. Es una de las obras más conocidas de Joanne (también portada de uno de sus libros) y muchos la consideran como el ejemplo más conocido del arte de moderno body paiting. Puesto que Joanne entonces no tabajaba con asistentes, la sesión empezó a las 6.30 de la mañana y después de un lagrísimo día de arte y fotografía, Demi aún tuvo que dormir en el traje por si el día siguiente hubiera que repetir algo.

I'm pretty sure you'll remember this famous cover of Demi More for Vanity Fair Autust 1992 (exactly a year after her also famous pregnant nude cover for the same magazine). The responsible of the "wardrobe" was Joanne Gair again and the photo was taken by Annie Lebowitz. This is one of Joanne's most famous pieces of work and is also considered by many to be the best-known example or modern body painting art. Joanne by then didn't use to work with assistants, so they had to start at 6.30 in the morning and after an exhausting day Demi still had to sleep with her suit on just in case they had to repeat something.

Muchos me pedisteis, ya antes de este "Guess who ...?" post, que identificara el nuevo bolso de Beyoncé. Y cuando me pedís eso, sé que queréis nombres y apellidos, me refiero a que no os vale con el nombre del diseñador. No estoy segura, pero comparando los bolsos de Beyoncé y Charlize con el famosísimo Sirena de Giorgio Armani hecho de pieles de pescado que solamente se encuentra en Tailandia, creo que es el mismo modelo. Puesto que está fabricado en diferentes colores,  acabados y de diferentes tipos de piel, creo que el que lleva Beyoncé también es Sirena. Y no solamente lo tienen ella y Charlize, en este club ya teníamos a Victoria Beckham, Katie Holmes, Hilary Swank y Ellen Pompeo, entre otras.

Many of you asked me, already before the last "Guess who ...?" post, to ID Beyoncé's new hand jewel. And when you ask me for this, I know you want names and surnames, I mean designer name and the one of the bag in question. I'm not 100% sure about this one but after comparing the totes both Beyoncé and Charlize were carrying with the so famous and so exquisite Giorgio Armani SIrena tote made from the skin of a fish only living in Thailand, that was also  made in several colours and finishes, from several kinds of leather, I believe this tote is Sirena as well. And not only do Beyoncé and Charlize own it. In this club we've been already having Victoria Beckham, Katie Holmes, Hilary Swank and Ellen Pompeo, among others.

Celebrity Shoes: Charlize Theron & Roger Vivier

Charlize sigue alegrando los habitantes y visitantes de Venecia con su presencia y los amantes de moda no presentes en Venecia, con su "pasarela". Ayer incluso hubo dos cambios de vestuario. Pero no voy a hablar de ellos, sino de sus sandalias negras que eligió tanto para completar su vestido de Gucci, como este modelito de Versace (que la verdad no me dice mucho y Charlize con el cuerpo que tiene, el estilazo y las posibilidades pudo haber elegido otra cosa de todo el mar de marvillosos vestidos que están a su alcance).

Charlize keeps making Venice habitants and visitors happy with her presence and fashion lovers with her red carpet catwalk. Yesterday she even rocked two outfits but I'm not going to talk about them but about her sxy black sandals she's chosen to wear with both her Gucci and this Verace dresses (this one honestly doesn't tell me anything and Charlize with her body, style and possibilities could have chosen much better).
